e-BUDGETING; Information and Communication Technologies
E-BUDGETING will explore how ICT can change the way in which municipalities engage and work with their citizens in participatory budgeting processes. The project will target the stakeholders in the structures and processes of local participative budgeting by developing user-friendly knowledge and concrete proposals on ICT for public participation in local governance.
E-BUDGETING will through a study on existing e-budgeting initiatives, and through local SWOTs and feasibility studies in 8 cities ensure new and relevant knowledge, which will be disseminated to a wide group of stakeholders. With its focus on knowledge, exchange of information, networking and on learning processes, E-BUDGETING will at the same time test ICT tools (video conferences, chat rooms, web-blogs etc) as a mean to strengthen the cooperation between the partners in the project.
